ParticipantHi, the client is asking for a page that will be called “Services”. I was thinking I could use the “Features” template. I duplicated the template, called it services, and created a new page using it, and stuck it in the Menu, but it’s not working. What did I do wrong? It’s this one: http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/ Not sure if you still have your logins from my last request.

ParticipantOH, this is the link to the new page I created: http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/services and it’s coming up, but some of the images are not and if you go to the “Services” page in the admin, it’s not allowing me to add new images and links like the “Features” page. How do I basically duplicate the Features page to where I can use it for another page with different images and content?

ParticipantOK, I tested a 2nd Services page, this time just calling up the “Features” template, but the content is not showing correctly at all: http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/services-test-2. It’s a sub-menu under “Services”, the first test page for which I selected the “services” template, but that would not allow me to add content.

KeymasterHi Marianne,
sorry but the theme is not prepared to show two sections duplicated. You only can load the same section in more than one place.

ParticipantOh ok. Can you tell me why it’s not updating the content? I replaced the images and the buttons on the side but the old content from the template is still showing.

ParticipantOH, nevermind. I see it now. This is too bad that I can’t duplicate the sections to create new pages. It leaves me little room for customizing the site.

KeymasterI’m sorry for the inconveniences. Maybe I can help you. How many sections do you want to duplicate?

ParticipantThanks for offering. I used the “Spotlight 2” single page to create a page called “Sundial Call Engine” but I need to create sub pages that would link from there.
So a few problems I’ve run into…
1) Although I set the menu link to be a custom link for http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/spotlight-2-1page, it’s not linking to that page from the menu unless I’m within one of the sub-pages. It’s like it’s not reading the custom menu link if you’re on the home page which is http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/.
2) What template do I use for just a generic new page?
3) Can I assign a link to each of the “bullets” on the Spotlight 2 page to link to new pages that I would create (as in #2 above)?
Thanks.

KeymasterHi,
- If you want a link to other page, you have to include the next code in the option Custom JS, in the page Appearance > Theme Options > Custom Scripts:
jQuery('#menu-item-8074').removeClass('scrollTo');
It is explained in the documentation.
- You have to use the layout One Page.
-
You can add them in the features options page. Add the tag in the title or description.

ParticipantThanks! I’ll give that a try.

ParticipantI missed the explanation about that script. That works! Thanks!
I have another Q: Is there an easy way to set the sidebar menu to show all the posts in the “Sundial Call Engine” Category? There are three in that category so far, and there will be more. I want them easily found from the top.

ParticipantWell, I think I got that last question figured out. It now has a side menu of the posts in that category: http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/category/sundial-call-engine/
Woohoooo!!!
Now there’s just one thing that is acting weird to me, and it’s probably a simple class adjustment, but not sure which one exactly. It’s the colors of the menu. Not sure why some of the menu links are the yellow/orange and the others are the dark gray. Should just the active page be the yellow?

ParticipantI ran into one more little issue.
For some reason the Menu shows up fine as long as I’m logged in, but if I’m logged out and looking at the website, the menu does not show up until I start scrolling down. Any idea what can be causing that? http://www.scottmsnyder.com/sundial/ Is it just me? I’m in Firefox on a Mac.

KeymasterHi,
yes, that effect is default in the theme. You can check it in the demo website: http://www.creabox.es/themes/cian_wp/

ParticipantIs there anything I can do to have that menu stay there and not disappear when someone lands on the site?
