Pastor Chris: The Man

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7, 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a faith-filled family with loving, committed parents. He was the oldest of four children born to Elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina, and the mother of the Oyakhilome family, who imprinted her faith in God’s grace upon her son from a young age.

The entire family is engaged in the LoveWorld ministry. Reverend Ken is Ken’s older brother and an active member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. He also holds an honorary doctorate in divinity from the Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the place where he felt God called him to become an ordained minister to the Lord.

The Man of God was in university, began what would become one the most important churches in the entire world. A small group of prayer called Youth for Christ’ was formed. Under Pastor Chris’s leadership, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LoveWorldSAT is the first Christian television station to broadcast from Africa all day, via free-to-air networks. Today, there are LoveWorld television stations available across satellite and cable networks throughout the globe.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris’s native Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. The Man of God founded NGOs to offer vital services and hope to the needy, poor and neglected. COFI is a partnership with five other organizations that have a common goal of raising living standards in the areas that are the least developed.

Under the auspices COFI is the InnerCity Mission (ICM) for Children, the Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC), Trauma Care International Foundation (TCIF), Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) as well as the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organizations strives to improve people’s lives as well as their health, spirits and overall wellbeing.
